I first discovered this insanely gorgeous Shrimps coat at The Shoe Box (duh!), and I immediately had to find out more about the brand! First of all, I am totally obsessed with the brand name. I love when brands take on a really avant grade name (eh hem NastyGal). I find a unique brand name not only instantly grabs your attention, but it also leaves you wanting to know the back story behind the reason for the name choice. I still have yet to find out why Shrimps the brand is labeled as so, but I promise the moment I find out I will blog about it!
A little history of Shrimps: Shrimps is a fashion label from the young London-based designer, Hannah Weiland, launched in 2013. With a background in History of Art and a diploma in Surface Textile Design from the London College of Fashion, Weiland takes her inspiration from the witticisms of modern art and a playful engagement with pattern and texture. Weiland uses carefully sourced fabrics that emphasize color and texture, Hannah creates unique, beautifully crafted pieces, perfect for the forward-thinking customer with a taste for the fun in fashion. At the heart of the brand is faux fur and outerwear, however the collections also now include accessories and RTW. (http://shrimps.co.uk)
I paired this faux fur Shrimps coat with a pair of olive green skinny leather pants. I love pairing different fabrics, and textures together in the winter to add that little extra pop to a cold dreary day! Iβve been very into experimenting with fabrics lately!!!... If there are textures, fabrics, or prints you are loving this season please let a girl know!
Hope everyone is ready for the weekend!!
