I like to call this coat my Technicolor Dream Coat. The moment I saw it, it instantly reminded me of the classic musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This musical or operetta with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber is one of the masterworks of theater that paved the way for so much creative inspiration.  The story is based on the "coat of many colors" story of Joseph from the Bible's Book of Genesis. This was the first Lloyd Webber and Rice musical to be performed publicly.

The show has little spoken dialogue; it is completely sung-through. Its family-friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music have resulted in numerous productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; according to the Really Useful Group, by 2008 more than 20,000 schools and amateur theatre groups had successfully put on productions.

Now that I went completely “theater geek” on you, it’s time to get back to the clothing. This patchwork coat from Tory Burch is the perfect mix of sophisticated and cool. The fact that Tory Burch made a matching patchwork skirt makes my inner Cher Horowitz go bananas! I have always been into matching sets. I find it looks very 90’s and adds a little pep in your step. This week has been absolutely gorgeous in NYC so wearing just a chunky sweater under this wool coat has been more than enough to keep me warm!

We shot this look on the Lower East Side, so stopping by my favorite coffee shop Mudd was a must! I don’t think we have ever passed by without stopping there first! I swear they have the best almond milk chai in the city!

Hope everyone has a fun or relaxing weekend planned! I am so excited to celebrate the Chinese New Year tonight with some of my closest friends!
