The next two costumes I will be posting pay homage to my two most favorite movies in the world! If you couldn’t already tell by the costume, the first look is Cher Horowitz from Clueless! I grew up watching Clueless, and wishing I could have Cher’s revolving closet! Clueless is a 1995 American coming-of-age film loosely based off the Jane Austen 1815 novel Emma. This year was the 20th anniversary of the film, so it was only fitting I dress as the iconic Cher Horowitz for Halloween! Although, the actual outfit I am wearing is from a costume shop, I paired the look with two of my favorite designer’s brands in full Horowitz fashion! The shoes are the classic Tod’s loafer, and the bag is my grandmothers vintage Hermes garden tote.
When shooting this look we knew we had to find the perfect location that was also fitting to the movie. When scouting we came across these basketball courts on the Lower East Side and knew it was perfect! Clueless has some of its most memorable scenes at the school’s gym, and these courts really transported me to the 90’s!
In honor of the 20th anniversary of Clueless Time.com posted 20 things you never knew about Clueless. If you are as obsessed with the movie as I am be sure to check it out!
Stayed tuned for my next Halloween look!
p.s here are some of my favorite Cher Horowitz Quotes:
“You see how picky I am about my shoes, and those only go on my feet.”
Dionne: “Hello, that was a stop sign.”Cher: “I totally paused!”
“I’m not a prude, I’m just highly selective.”
“Searching for a boy in high school is as useless as searching for meaning in a Pauly Shore movie.”
“She’s my friend because we both know what it’s like to have people be jealous of us.”
"Oh my god, I am totally buggin'."
“I had an overwhelming sense of ickiness.”
“May I please remind you that it does not say ‘RSVP’ on the Statue of Liberty.”
