This look was extra fun to shoot because we ventured to Brooklyn for the day! It really couldn’t have been a more gorgeous day at the DUMBO waterfront! DUMBO, which stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, has become one of Brooklyn's most talked about neighborhoods. Less than two decades ago, the former manufacturing district was a ghost town, however today the area is HOT! DUMBO is gentrification at it’s finest! The best part about DUMBO is it is so easily accessible from NYC! A walk across the Brooklyn Bridge puts you in the heart of the area. The F train stops a block from the Manhattan Bridge overpass (get off at York Street), and the Clark Street stop on the 2 and 3 trains and the High Street stop on the A and C are just a short walk away. Though, the most exciting way to arrive is via the East River Ferry, which departs from Pier 11 in downtown Manhattan… AND better yet this only takes just five short minutes!!!
This look is all about the brand Max & Moi. The brand, a forever chic and effortlessly cool pret-a-porter label, was founded in Paris in 1925. I found this pink Max & Moi sweater at Maddy’s 390, of course! Max & Moi is rare to come by in New York, and Maddy’s 390 is definitely the place to find the goods. I paired this sweater with a casual Brooklyn look. I think it’s best to wear a more casual and comfortable jean and white tee when you have a sweater or jacket that really stands out… You don’t want to take away from the uniqueness. On a side note: I am totally obsessed with backpacks this season. Maybe it is because I am still in grad school and backpacks are still very prevalent to my life, but I think this Zara one is to die for! Tweed with a mini silver chain?... What could be better????
Would love to hear your favorite hot spots in Brooklyn… I am definitely going back soon!
