NYFW Feburary 2019: Day 1

Pinching myself everyday that this is my career. This season’s shows were not just about the clothes, they stood for so much more. From Nicole Miller’s rocker-chic tomboy vibes proving you don’t have to be girly to be the sexiest person in the room, to Jonathan Simkhai and Veronica Beard’s whole new outlooks on power suiting, it’s clear that this year was all about the fearless female within us all. We are all warriors, and fashion week emphasized that throughout each show. Fashion is often a reaction to what’s going on in our society and subtly speaks towards how we can lift each other up despite chaos in the everyday. Alice and Olivia’s presentation in an old synagogue and Badgley Mishcka’s red dress girl gang reminded us that we are stronger together. I feel so lucky to have witnessed these shows first hand and cannot thank the people who have stood by me every step of the way to get me where I’m at today. The industry as a whole, though it can be saturated at times, testifies that there is positive power in its people as long as we learn to manifest it jointly. We really are stronger together!
