I call this look “Corporate Kate.” Since graduating college I have never had a full time office job that required me to dress more “corporate.” Upon graduating from The University of Richmond I went straight into a full time two-year acting conservatory called William Esper. A lot of people don’t know this, but I am still in the program full time until I graduate from it in June. The conservatory is beyond incredible. It has been such an extraordinary experience to be part of something so unique and inspiring. When I started Honestly Kate I never imagined it would really take off the way it did, so finding a balance with managing school and running HK has definitely been challenging at times. The most challenging part however, is that fact that I know I have so much passion for both industries that I sometimes feel torn between the two. Since I can remember I have been cutting, sewing and making clothing, but I also can’t remember a time that I didn’t love performing and putting on shows for anyone who would watch. I know that without having a background in performance and production I wouldn’t have been able to put myself out into the public eye that way that I have with Honestly Kate. I know that both passions are extremely beneficial to each other, and I know that I will continue to strive to find more ways to have them cross paths in the future.
I have tettered on sharing this information on the blog for a while now because I didn’t know how people would react, but now that I’m writing the post it feels so good to share more of my personal life with you guys! I hope that if you find a passion you stick with it because "they" say the more passionate you are about your work the more successful you will be!
